Who Are They

The Loftus Masterplan team are spearheading the redevelopment and reinvigoration of the town of Loftus, transforming it into a modern market town with plenty of facilities. A whole host of projects are planned by the team, operating under Redcar & Cleveland Council, to improve Loftus.

What They Needed

Following on from the Redcar Place Marketing project, the council approached us to create another site this time for Loftus. The website was required to share details of upcoming projects with the people living in and around the town. There were concerns about the effects that these projects might have, which the team wanted to address through providing a clear and concise way to learn about each of the planned works. Each project has its own imagery, information and news which had to be displayed on the site.

The website needed to be easy to access, interactive for users and simple to update for the team working behind the scenes, as new works pop up in the future.

We made sure to give users multiple options to view projects how they want to see them.

What We Did

We decided early on that to best display the projects, we would create a showcase reel with map integration on the homepage. Visitors to the site can then choose to view a project using its name, or its location to the map, for example if they want to view projects based on proximity to their home.

The site also has a news section for each project, which allows the project to be tagged within the article or allows the article to be displayed on the project page itself.

The main outcome of the project was to keep the feel of existing council sites, whilst providing the functionality and layout to best frame their content.
